In 2012, seven painters got together over lunch and launched the Plein-air Artists of the Central Coast or PACC. We have a shared passion for painting our beautiful Central California landscape. To be outdoors, trying to capture on canvas or paper the feel of the scenery before us, keeps us going back day after day. There's nothing like having the great outdoors as one's office.
Camille Dellar: Camille Renga Dellar is a native of Santa Barbara, California. Growing up in the beautiful foothills that embrace this picturesque area helped develop her keen observation of landscape. When painting "en plein air," the true colors of nature and the atmosphere of the day inspire Camille-every day being unique. Striving for a sense of place in her paintings, her interpretation of the landscape also reflects the tranquility she experiences while painting. Primarily self-taught, Camille has had the opportunity to study under a variety of artists including, Ken Auster, Ovannes Berberian, Ted Goershner and Jove Wang.
Morgan Green: Morgan seeks out the rough ground just past the pavement in a city park or down a wilderness trail. She's at home up a mountain, on the sea or in a desert. She chooses natuaral subjects that "delight , soothe or awe me and put the workday humdrum into perspective". Morgan begins her works onsite. Some evolve into larger studio paintings. Strongly influenced by the California Impressionists, Morgan especially strives for quality and mood of light. Recent awards include the Holbein Award, 2013 Pastels USA International Open Exhibition, Best Plein Air, 2013 Pastel Society of the West Coast Open Exhibition. Residing in Santa Barbara, California, she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of New Mexico, and has studied pastel and oil painting with artists such as Richard McKinley and David Gallup.www.morganartist.com
Sheryl Knight: Having a passion for the landscape and just being outdoors has made Sheryl Knight an award-winning artist who loves painting in the plein air tradition. Her individual style and paint application is a constant theme throughout her body of work, creating a consistency that is uniquely her own. Drawn to the beauty of the California landscape she finds joy in the subjects all around her. “I love painting on location as I feel it brings out the true colors and atmosphere of nature. There is also a tranquility and a thrill that comes from painting from life, and I am always inspired by the wonder of creation. I don’t think I will ever stop loving the process of putting oil paint on canvas and seeing something beautiful come out of it. I am so thankful to be able to pursue this passion I call art.”
Her most recent awards and recognitions include acceptance into several national shows, three times into National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society winning the Best Landscape Award and the Merit Award,
three times into American Women Artists national show, and two times into Paint the National Parks Top 100. She has participated in several plein air festivals in recent
years, and been published in American Art Collector Magazine and Southwest Art Magazine. www.sherylknight.com

Gerry Winant: Gerry Winant spent his childhood following his father, a career naval officer, around the US. There were no exotic assignments such as Paris or Florence but Albuquerque, NM, Coronado and Port Chicago, CA provided a variety of experiences, none of which had much to do with art. Following graduation from Stanford University Gerry spent 7 years in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Assignments in the Navy’s Underwater Demolition Team and SEAL Team and a subsequent graduate degree in Biochemistry somehow lead to an interest and eventual passion for art. So, when he began art classes through the Santa Barbara’s Adult Education Program it was quite a surprise when, after a mere two years, he sold his first painting to a little girl who was a tourist at the SB Mission. Hysteria followed as did his enthusiasm and a profound appreciation for the good fortune of pursuing art in Santa Barbara. Artists here are blessed with an extraordinary array of scenic locations and excellent teachers. In addition, the art community is very supportive and there are endless opportunities to display one’s art throughout the year. www.gerrywinant.com
Susan Belloni: Susan joined PACC in 2013. She was born in Ottowa, Canada but grew up in Southern California. She received an art degree from UCSB, studied with wonderful local and nationally acclaimed artists and is a founding member of the nonprofit group Southern California Artists Painting for the Environment. In addition to Plein Art Central Coast Painters and SCAPE, she belongs to the Santa Barbara Art Association and the Artist Guild of Santa Ynez Valley. Susan has received awards in local exhibits and her work has been featured on magazine covers as well as licensed for books, posters and cards. Her paintings are in corporate and private collections, including those of actors John Cleese, and Heather & David Rasche. www.susanbelloni.com
Born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, Kerri’s interest in the arts and the outdoors were apparent in childhood. In the late 1990’s, Kerri discovered painting en plein air to be the perfect blending of art and nature. Primarily self taught, Kerri considers time spent with plein air painters Kevin McPherson, Ray Roberts, Jean Le Gassick, Michael Drury, John Comer, Marcia Burtt invaluable in learning to see and to paint.
Encouraged to explore art in early childhood and compelled to study art throughout her education, the push and pull of life yielded a degree and a successful career in Clinical Nutrition for Kerri. Her unwavering passion for painting is evident in her ability to squeeze painting and learning into a life that is overflowing with family, career and daily tasks. “For me, time spent painting is opportunity for personal reflection and renewal while losing myself in doing what I love.”
Kerri’s plein air adventures take her up and down the California coast, out to the Santa Barbara Channel Islands, up to the Sierra Nevada, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite, across the pond to the Tuscan countryside and most recently to the Southwest and along the Colorado River through the depths of the Grand Canyon. Kerri is always ready for an adventure and the chance to fill canvas, mind, body, soul and spirit with as much beauty and light as possible. Kerri is a member of the Santa barbara Art Association, SCAPE and the California Art Club.
